People can come to Saturnia all year round and reap the benefits, but, obviously, some periods are more suitable than others.
When the weather begins to be, or is still quite good, Saturnia is as its best. Even if the outdoor temperature is a little low, people feel fine in the water. All you need is a bathrobe for when you come out. Also, there are not so many people and you have the possibility to enjoy the thermal water with some privacy.
Therefore, the main season is from March to October included. When the sea is too cold, it is possible to bathe at Saturnia without any problems whatsoever. The busiest period is August, holiday periods and bank holidays in general, such as May 1st, or New Year; the busiest time of all is Easter; for all these periods you are advised to organise your stay some time in advance; some weekends are also particularly busy, so it is wise to book your overnight stays.
Quiet periods are: from the second week of November up to Christmas, January and the low point of the year is February. The place is ideal for relaxing among the green surroundings, going on excursions, horse-riding, visiting rural culture centres (agriturismo) and good eating; the Maremma is in a central location that allows you to arrive at the Argentario, Monte Amiata, Montalcino or archaeological sites such as Pitigliano or Sovana in about one hour.
